Mustang Stampede has performed for many different groups in many different settings, from playgrounds and professional sports arenas to stages and parades. Any flat, firm, dry surface will do, and for indoor venues high ceilings are a must. Performances can be tailored to fit your needs, large or small, for just about any kind of event including: company picnics and parties, conventions, conferences, sporting events, festivals, school and church functions, retirement homes, benefits, grand openings and state fairs. Close to home or across the country, we are happy to consider all requests. Some notable performances include:
The National Cherry Blossom Parade and Festival, Washington, D. C.
Rotunda of the Texas State Capitol
Austin Rodeo
Dallas Cowboys
Dallas Mavericks
Texas A&M Basketball
Richardson Wildflower Festival*
SeaWorld, San Antonio
Fiesta Texas
Gruene Hall**
Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo
Dallas Holiday Parade
Each member of Stampede is an exceptional high school student. To be considered for membership, students must first must meet grade and conduct requirements, and obtain excellent recommendations from their classroom teachers. Prospective members then audition before a panel of judges with ballroom dancing, cheerleading and drill team expertise. Each year, over 100 hopefuls attend the mandatory meeting that kicks off several days of workshops and auditions. This year's team consists of 25 couples, all juniors and seniors at J. J. Pearce High School. They practice daily, while also being involved in varsity sports, drill team, student government, honor societies, theater, choir, band, and other school organizations, as well as community and church activities. Stampede is sponsored by teacher Mrs. Sommer Johnson and her husband, teacher and coach Marc Johnson.
Attired in red boots, snappy white hats and blue denim, Stampede will delight and amaze you with their energetic routines and high-flying stunts. After the show, join the team for lessons in line dancing and Texas two-stepping. Plan to include some country and western fun in your next event!
*Recognized, out of 38,000 events, as one of the Top 100 Festivals in the United States by Event Business Magazine
